Morning Coffee Energy Drink

There is a sense of dread about Mondays. Dragging myself back to the working week after a 2 day break can feel a little bit overwhelming. I overcome Monday morning anxiety making my Coffee Banana - Cocoa smoothie. 😋😋😋

Our bodies need banana, which is a great source of potassium, it helps to low the risk of heart disease and stroke. I added a full spoon of Unsweet cocoa powder. Cocoa is made from cacao beans, which are full of serotonin, a “feel-good” brain chemical and a primary neurotransmitter in the body that is a natural anti-depressant and plays a major role in mood and emotional health. Of course, I add fresh cold brew coffee, made the night before; one of the most potent sources of antioxidants, and finally, collagen, which help with the joints, and the appearance of healthy skin, hair and nails.  This delicious smoothie gives me all the energy I need to start my week, it helps me to increase my focus, reduce my stress and help me to feel and look great. See the recipe below:

Ingredients:

1 Banana

1 Tbsp Unsweet Cocoa

1/2 - 3/4 Cup of Cold Brew Coffee

1 Cup of Milk (Almond/Coconut)

1 Tbsp Peanut Butter or Honey/ Agave  (Optional)

1 Tbsp of Collagen

1 Tbsp Cinnamon Powder

1/2 Tbsp Vanilla

Cuban Coffee - Cafe Cubano/ Cafecito

Cuban Coffee is a sweet espresso drink made with strong, dark roast espresso with a thick sugar foam. This cafecito is a huge part of the Cuban culture, and if you are not familiar with the Cuban culture and visit Miami, give it a try and make sure to add this into your to do list.

Ingredients:

Ground espresso

6 cups of water

4 tbsp of granulated sugar

Brew the espresso: Your preferred method. However, Cubans recommended Stove - top espresso maker.

Make the sugar Foam - Espumita. In a measuring cup add the sugar. Add the first few drops of espresso (they are the most concentrated) into the cup of sugar. Stir the sugar vigorously until you have the thick sugar foam. Allow the espresso maker to continue to brew while you prepare the foam.

Once espresso maker is done, pour the espresso into the cup with the sugar foam. Stir together very slow to combine. Serve in espresso cups and enjoy!
